Challenging External Locus of Control Beliefs:

Coaching question: Write:
1. Reflecting on Past Experiences:
◦ How have beliefs about luck or external factors influenced your decisions and actions in the past?

◦ Can you identify instances where attributing outcomes to external factors hindered your progress or growth?

| 2. Assessing Perceptions of Control:

◦ How might viewing situations as beyond your control impact your motivation to take action or make changes?

◦ Have you noticed a pattern of feeling disempowered in certain aspects of your life? What contributes to this feeling?

| 3. Exploring Alternative Perspectives:

◦ What evidence contradicts the belief that external forces solely determine outcomes?

◦ Are there successful individuals you admire who achieved their goals despite facing similar challenges?

| What else you don’t know? What perspective you might be missing? | |

Adopting Internal Locus of Control Beliefs:

◦ What steps can you take to view challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement?

| 3. Identifying Controllable Factors:

◦ How can setting clear goals and developing action plans enhance your sense of control over outcomes?

| 4. Highlighting Past Achievements:
